Antique Sterling Silver Match Safe Vesta Case by Watrous Manufacturing (CT)
This gorgeous match case or vest case is hand engraved with the initials "CER" in ellaborate letters.
The W in a crescent stamp is the mark for the Watrous Manufacturing Co. of Wallingford, Connecticut
The match safe measures 2 1/2 inches (62mm) tall, 1 7/16 inches (36mm) wide and 7/16 inch (11mm) deep.
It is engraved CER and is in magnificent condition. The lid opens and stays closed. The match strike at the base is in remarkably good shape.
There are no dents or serious scratches. It was hand-polished. There are light lines on its surface from age and regular use.
It is stamped Sterling right next to the W in a crescent, which is the marker's mark. It is also stamped with the number 4, which is likely a style or pattern number.
